‘Phishing’ is a type of scam where fake messages look like they’re from someone you trust, trying to steal your information or infect your device.

Key signs of phishing:

  • Personalisation: messages use details from social media or other sources.
  • Impersonation: emails appear to come from a familiar person or organisation.
  • Malicious intent: the goal is to steal information or install harmful software.
